Professional Development Events
Many of your colleagues have generously agreed to offer workshops during our Summer Institute. Workshops are offered throughout the summer both virtually and in person. Through a pending grant with NYS the Consortium will pay teachers per session rate for attending IN PERSON workshops. Both virtual & in person workshops are eligible for CTLE credit.
Click this post for the current list of workshops or visit the catalog with full descriptions. Sign up via this form. More details to be added in the coming days so stay tuned!
To visit another school as an external evaluator, see the PBAT Calendar for sign up instructions. (Speak to your liaison to make sure your school's PBATs are posted!)
Superintendent Alan Cheng will be holding a hiring fair that will have representatives from many NYC Consortium Schools. The fair is open to prospective DOE teachers as well as teachers already working in the DOE who may be interested in transferring via the Open Market process. This will be an opportunity to learn about opportunities at many different schools. See this flyer for more information. Please let your friends know!

At the last moderation study, one of the teachers asked, What is the purpose of the literature PBAT? To ensure students developed the stamina and fluency for reading substantial works of fiction? Or to ensure they have developed strong analytical skills?
Actually, both…
Interested in joining the committee who will be revising the Experimental Science rubric in the coming months? Our first meeting, in which we will review the feedback from the moderation study and decide next steps, will be this Thursday, May 25th from 3:30 - 5 virtual. Dear Colleagues,
November is fast approaching and is full of opportunities for you to connect with other Consortium educators.
Congratulations on finishing the first full week of school! Our fall PD is taking shape - we hope you'll get involved!
Welcome back to school, educators! We hope you were able to take some time to relax and reset this summer. Highlights and resources from the summer workshops will be posted here in the coming days.
We also want to share some upcoming professional development opportunities.

This workshop explores the creation of Text Sets…
