Landmark is hiring a school social worker
Landmark High School, located in Manhattan's Bayard Rustin Educational Complex, is a progressive, project-based small high school founded in 1994. We're seeking a compassionate, student-centered School Social Worker who believes in relationship-building, restorative justice, and culturally responsive support.
About Us
Our community is built on strong advisory relationships (each teacher advises ~15 students), restorative practices, and a commitment to student growth, independence, and empowerment.
The Role
You'll support students' emotional, social, behavioral, and academic well-being through individual and group counseling, mandated IEP counseling services, crisis intervention, family outreach, and case management. You'll be a key part of our restorative justice and student support systems, collaborating closely with teachers, families, and outside agencies.
Key Responsibilities
Individual/group counseling and mandated IEP services
Crisis intervention and safety planning
Family outreach and connecting students to outside resources
Supporting restorative justice, mediation, and conflict resolution
IEP meetings, family conferences, and intervention planning
Documentation and caseload management
Culturally responsive, trauma-informed, anti-racist practice
Ideal Candidate
NYS School Social Worker certification, eligible to work in NYC public schools
Experience with high school students' social-emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs
Strong crisis intervention and collaboration skills
Commitment to restorative justice and equity
