Ann Cook

Ann is executive director and co-founder of the New York Performance Standards Consortium. She also co-founded and co-directed the Urban Academy Laboratory High School and taught for decades at both the high school and college levels. Ann has dedicated many years to the design and implementation of equitable and rigorous assessment in public schools.

Alexandra Rathmann-Noonan

Alexandra (AJ) Rathmann-Noonan is Director of School Support for the New York Performance Standards Consortium and Board Secretary for Community Studies, Inc. After years as a high school science teacher and school leader in NYC schools, she worked for several years supporting schools within the DOE, including supporting the launch of the PROSE program and within the Consortium Superintendent’s office. Jonathan Katz, PhD

As director of the Consortium’s math program, and as a teacher and coach, Jonathan has spent decades creating mathematics classrooms that engage students as mathematical thinkers and stimulate their appreciation for the wonder and beauty of mathematics. He has helped students and teachers rethink their notions of mathematics and develop engaging classrooms with a focus on problem solving.

Center for Inquiry

Phyllis Tashlik

Phyllis directs the Center for Inquiry, providing professional development support for teachers within the Consortium. She has helped design and implement the Consortium’s performance assessment system, including interim assessments, moderation studies, and rubrics. She has decades of teaching experience and has written extensively about literacy issues and performance assessment. Taina Camacho

Taina Camacho, MHC-LP, CASAC-T, NCC is a Substance Abuse Counselor at New Directions Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Treatment Program. She received her BA at Hunter College, CUNY, and her MA at St. John’s University. Taina is a Consortium school graduate and parent of a student in a Consortium school.

Milly Hawk Daniel

Milly Hawk Daniel is an editor, writer, and communications specialist who has worked with nonprofit organizations such as Girl Scouts of the USA, March of Dimes, PolicyLink, and others. She is also a speechwriter who provides guidance in message delivery.

Mike Tyner

Michael Tyner is a film educator with over 15 years of experience teaching in high schools and universities across the country. Tyner is also an award-winning film and television producer who has created content for Netflix, PBS, Warner Media and more.

Terry Weber

Following a career as a Consortium teacher and coach of mathematics, Terry joined the Board of Directors. He has served as president since 2021.
