Institute for Collaborative Education has opening in special education
The Institute for Collaborative Education is seeking a Special Education teacher for the Spring Semester of 2018.
We are seeking a candidate who is interested in helping our SPED department grow and who is willing to work in more than one capacity: pushing into classrooms, planning and teaching collaboratively, and teaching pull-out sessions in small groups. We always seek generalists rather than specialists, and we hope to find a candidate who is comfortable supporting students in any subject area regardless of their own skill set.
ICE is a small, progressive 6-12 school that serves a diverse student body. All of our classes are heterogeneous groups though we have ICT classes on 3 grade levels. As a member of the NYS Performance Standards Consortium we challenge our students on all grade levels to complete layered, in-depth projects in all subject areas. Teachers at ICE work collaboratively to design personalized education plans for all students in the context of shared curriculum and instruction.
The position will be a leave replacement, but can become permanent in the Spring or Summer based on performance. Please send all inquiries and resumes to Principal Peter Karp at email@example.com
