As elected members of the School Leadership Team and the PTA at _______________________, we represent the parents who have chosen this school because it offers enormous educational advantages for our children.

Our parent body places great importance on the in-depth, performance-based assessments that our children must complete in order to graduate. We believe that these assessments most effectively prepare our young people for success in college and all post-secondary paths that they may pursue.

The high-stakes tests imposed by the New York State Education Department present serious obstacles to quality education and threaten to destroy the highly effective teaching strategies employed at our school.

As parents, we fully support legislative efforts to ensure our right to choose the kind of learning environment that we want for our children, and we seek your support to have our school included in the group of pilot schools designated in the proposed legislation.
